Megan Ward (South-West London)
Hi, I'm Megan!
I’ve recently joined Little Hummingbirds as an Early Years music class teacher. Before moving to London seven years ago, I worked as an apprentice nursery practitioner at a school in my hometown in Lincolnshire. I loved learning about child development and realising that seemingly small moments can mean huge leaps in a child’s understanding of the world around them.
I moved to London to pursue a Bachelor of Music degree in Popular Music Performance. From a very early age, I have always sang and performed - appreciating the confidence it gives me, as well as the means to express myself. Over the course of my study, I became massively interested in vocal technique and wrote my dissertation on how different ‘branded’ techniques compare with ‘Primal Voice’ - a methodology based on the premise that, whilst using their voices all day everyday, babies and children very rarely lose their voices; they must be doing something right!
Over the years, my interest in education and passion for music has merged together and I am so happy to be joining Little Hummingbirds. I believe that music can have a major part to play in all areas of child development - from confidence and social skills, to maths and language. I am excited to see all of this come together in a fun and friendly setting!'
